Work this weekend 2/3 February 2019
National Grid contractor Balfour Beatty is working this weekend to upgrade and maintain the access route into the site compound off Shipton Lee Road. They will be working Saturday 08:00 - 16:00 and Sunday 08:00 - 17:00. The Stone Road has deteriorated over time and needs to be refurbished before work begins. The works can be completed over the weekend without impact on other works/contractors.
Bird nest outage weekend 8/9 February 2019
The following weekend Balfour Beatty will be working Saturday 08:00 - 16:00 and Sunday 08:00 - 17:00 to install bird nest blockers on the pylons where they will be working. This activity prevents birds from nesting and old nests will be removed. This work requires an electricity outage, which is when the power is switched off, this will not affect local electricity supplies.
The work is guided by available time on the National Grid network to facilitate these works before bird nesting season starts in March 2019.
